Day 1  Chiang Mai – Mae Sariang 277km

This particular riding loop is one of my favorites. We depart from our Hotel in Chiang Mai and head to the highest mountain in Thailand, Doi Inthanon (Elevation 2565m). Along the way our first stop is Wachirathan Waterfall. It’s water spray is massive and makes a great photo opportunity along with stop to the coffee shop and toilets. Continuing up the 1009 we come to the King and Queens Royal Pagodas which spectacular to see. A short ride up the mountain is the hightest peak of Doi Inthanon with a temperature of 12 degrees on average and as low as 8 degrees. This whole mountain range has twisty roads to the bottom of Mae Chaem where we stop for Lunch 150km later.

After lunch we head to our first nights accommodation in Mar Sariang 127km. Along the way we have a rest stop at Bo Keao Pine Tree Park and you are all welcome to stop at any time for any photo opportunities. Mae Sariang is a picturesque town alongside the Yuam River not to far from the Burma Border. There are many local restaurants and bars on the river front to choose from.

Day 2  Mae Sariang – Pai 320km

This is our longest day on the road but still in no rush with plenty to see along the way. This 320km would have to be the pick of the day regarding best twisty and scenic roads. We stop at Maelauang View point on our way to Khun Yuam to visit the Japan/Thailand Museum which is small but worth a visit. Back on the bikes we head to Mae Hong Son for lunch at my favorite pub named Cross Roads for a nice lunch and drinks. This town has a few wonderful temples to visit. After lunch we all head to Lod Cave for a longboat cave tour, a must do. Its really good fun and we have been may times and never get bored. Pai is only a short 50km ride to our second nights stay . This town is very busy being so close to Chaing Mai for tourists. Pai consists of  Walking Street with many food stalls, arts and crafts with lots of souvenirs to buy, restaurants and bars open late for who ever is up for it.

Day 3 Pai – Chiang Mai 150km

After a big night for some and breakfast, we head for a look at the Big White Buddha of Pai including 300 steps to the top overlooking the valley below which is fantastic. On our way back to Chiang Mai, the Pai Canyons and Memorial Bridge is worth a look at and we stop at the Witches Hut Coffee shop midway down the mountain for a break after passing though a major Thai Army check point. The Tiger park is our next stop for lunch and you can purchase a ticket  to sit with Tigers for a photo if u Dare… Chiang Mai is only a short ride back.

Tour 4 : Mae Hong Son Loop 4 Day Tour Extra 150km

3 Riders or More with Tour Guide THB 33,300 / Pillion 16,000 each

2 Riders or More with Tour Guide THB 35,020 each / Pillion 16,000 each

Solo Rider with Tour Guide THB 39,000 / Pillion 16,800 each

The extra night is spent in Mae Hong Son, we get to see more of the near by attractions like Mae Srin Waterfall which is 100m in length, the Meo Microwave look out has amazing tight corners and very steep at times leading up to a small hard working village. Not a huge amount to see there but the road is fantastic and well worth the trip. We visit the Long Neck Village just outside Mae Hong Son with a short boat trip across the river for a wonder walk though the village with lots of small cheap souvenirs to buy. Ban Rak Thai is a Chinese Village backing on to a small reservoir and bordering Burma, it has wonderful tasting tea while sitting next to the lake. The roads are twisty for there is only one way in and one way out, fantastic riding though the mountains.

Tour 5: Mae Hong Son Loop/ Golden Triangle 5 Day Road Tour

3 Riders or More with Tour Guide THB 40,120 each / Pillion 20,120 each

2 Riders or More with Tour Guide THB 41,625 each / Pillion 20,120 each

Solo Rider with Tour Guide THB 44,830 / Pillion 20,120 each

My most popular tour starting from Chiang Mai with a night at Mae Sariang, Pai, ThaTon,Golden Triangle and Chiang Mai.The Mae Hon Son Loop is a comprehensive way to discover one of Thailand’s most authentic provinces. Mae Hong Son is the most mountainous province in Thailand and receives few visitors due to its relatively remote location and time needed to reach it. The loop is approximately 600km long and needs a minimum of 3 days to complete. After leaving Pai on day 3 we ride to ThaTon which is a small quite town on the KoK River. The last 2 days we travel around the Golden Triangle which borders Thailand, Laos, and Myanmar. We ride though Chiang Rai and visit Wat Rong Khun better known to foreigners as the white temple on our way back to Chiang Mai.

Tour 6 : Chiang Mai / Golden Triangle / Chiang Kham / Nan 2 Days / Chiang Mai 5 Day Tour

3 Riders or More with Tour Guide THB 40,120 each / Pillion 20,120 each

2 Riders or More with Tour Guide THB 41,625 each / Pillion 20,120 each

Solo Rider with Tour Guide THB 44,830 / Pillion 20,120 each

Chiang Mai / Golden Triangle 350km

Our first day is long in the saddle with many things to see and do along the way before we get to the Golden Triangle, Chiang Dao Cave is where we stop and have a wonder in the cave or just walk around the near by temple. Next stop Tha Ton has a perfect scenery over looking the small town with magnificent Temple Wat Thaton Chedi and Buddha statues to look at, a perfect spot for a panoramic photo. The Mae Fah Luang Garden and Royal Villa is our next stop, theses gardens are beautiful and well worth the walk around for 30min. The twisty roads up to and beyond the gardens are great. We all ride along the land border of Myanmar with barbwire fence, Thai Army check points along the way to our resting stop for the night Golden Triangle right on the fantastic Mekong.

Golden Triangle / Chiang Kham 300km

Leaving the wonderful Golden Triangle we head for the twisty roads of Phu Sang National Park but before that we ride alone the Mekong River to one of my favorite Coffee/View Points that you will thoroughly enjoy. Chiang khong is up next a lovely small river town which has the Thai/Lao Friendship Bridge. From here on we head to Doi Pha Tang View Point/Sitting Buddha and a short walking trail to the hill tops (a must do). Most of the day we ride through the mountain range stopping for many great photo opportunities. Phu Pha Sawan Viewpoint is also a great trail walk. As we head down the mountain we all end up at Phu Sang Waterfall which is at the base of the hills, a great rest stop. Chiang Kham is our over night destination.

Chiang Kham / Nan 250km

The ride today may not be a long way but the windy roads along the 1345 to Phu Arn Maa look out, its a dead end road so we double back 12km. From here on we ride along the 1148 to Magic Mountain Biker Cafe the roads are new with spectacular views and great photo opportunities, passing through Chiang Klang and Pua towards Nan for the night. We get a chance to see a great temple with lots of displays Wat Si Mongkol, its a must see.

Nan Second Day Loop 240km

Today we all do a Mountain Loop of Nan which is very popular with Bikers and Thai people on there holidays. The twisty roads are never ending. Lunch midway at the Salt Pond tourist attraction with many coffee shops and look outs along the way.

Nan / Chiang Mai 300km

On our final days ride we head to the major town of Phayao for lunch which has one of the largest lakes in Thailand but before we arrive the 1091 has been newly updated and is fantastic. We stop at Doi Phu Nang National Park Waterfall, not huge but very nice to see. We then head to Phayao for lunch besides the Grand Lake. After lunch is our final 150km stretch of windy roads to Chiang Mai along the 120 followed by 118 straight to your hotel. Congratulations….
